5. FedEx, one of the most popular shipping companies was saved from the brink of bankruptcy by gambling! In the year 1973, founder Frederick Smith took to gambling in Las Vegas with the last $5,000 of the company. It paid off winning him $27,000 which helped the company to continue its operations.
6. Roulette is also called “The Devil’s Game” because when you add up all the numbers on the wheel, the sum is 666.

8. Contrary to the industry being dominated by males, the first casino license was granted to a woman in Las Vegas. Mayme Stocker was the first one to open a legal casino for the Northern Club in 1920.
9. In the 1950s, when the US Dept of Energy was detonating test nukes, the scary spectacle of mushroom clouds turned into a business opportunity for casinos. Casino bars were serving ‘atomic cocktails’ to cash on the mushroom clouds left by nuke bombs.
10. The world’s gambling capital is Macau. The casino revenue in this Chinese territory is five times more than in Vegas!
